Team Descriptions
On the younger age teams, here's what to expect
Under 6
Let's get things started! Coed u6 is a great opportunity to introduce kids to the sport of soccer. Training is held weekly, typically for 45 minutes where foundational soccer basics are taught. Foot skills are focused on where new players become comfortable moving around with the ball. This age group does not participate in organized league games, but does scrimmage within their team and occasionally with other area clubs.
The team participates is fall, winter (1 & 2) and spring. U6 is a great way to become familiar with a team environment and build your soccer foundation.
Under 8
This coed age group is a really fun environment. In the fall and spring we participate in "festivals" which are a series of small-sided 4v4 games between multiple clubs, all at the same location but on many small fields. Each club sends multiple teams. Games are short, 10-15 minutes, then each team rotates to the next field to simultaneously play the next club. At each festival our club sends as many teams as can be made from available players and supported by assistant coaches.
Teams consist of the 4 field players and typically 1 or 2 subs. Parents mark their player's availability in Demosphere a week before the festival. The staff then divides the pool of players up into teams and reports to the festival coordinator how many team units will be participating. This provides great scheduling flexibility for families as parents can elect to participate in as few or as many festivals as they want.
Winter indoor soccer is run in a similar fashion but with a fixed number of weekly teams which must be known at the beginning of the session. Indoor games are 5v5 and include a goal keeper.
Under 10 +
This is the age group where the player genders split and things start to get more serious. In fall and spring these groups participate in a travel league consisting of 4 home and 4 away games, up to an hour away. Travel commitment is required. All team coordination and communication is handled through the Demosphere app as described in the u8 section above. In the winter months these teams participate in indoor league games and a mix of local and travel tournaments.
